Cute x2October 27, 2006 - 10:45 AM
Two things cute for your friday.
Baby Ira is born-ed! it's now the neon family!
cute with chris
i found this vlog on accident, it is the best thing i've seen on the internets in a while. it is how i imagine a cute segment on the daily show to be. all your dreams are dead. watch it and you'll get it. also on the site right now is a thing about pandas. hello!? pandas is awesome.
cooking robots & cream puff dressesOctober 20, 2006 - 10:49 PM
i've come to the conclusion that i don't post because i don't like to use the computer at home. it's in a room where the chair is uncomfortable and i end up with a stupid backache (and also the tv is not viewable from here and hello, what are you thinking of this season's lost??!?) and so i thought maybe i'd post at work, but then the cutlery, which was easy peasy two weeks ago, has been ridiculous busy lately (i guess that would be the pre-xmas halloween maddash that all retail companies do from now until january). so yah, long story short i should buy a laptop or at least a good chair.
also i've been out quite a bit, karaoke with a live band, grant birthday party, tasty food at eos with carolyn and jalice, badly drawn boy, lunch with nick, cutlery sample sale, great finds at the design warehouse...
but anyways, i just had to share two things with you.
1- Robots can now cook chinese food - it is science and therefore you can't question it.
2- A wedding dress made of cream puffs - i would probably eat it and be half naked halfway down the aisle
go go ninja dinosaurOctober 06, 2006 - 10:16 AM
eventually i landed on his great cd for kids. it's got songs by Belle & Sebastian, Four Tet, Franz, Jonathan Richman (with a slightly depressing song about an old dog) and more. and bonus proceeds to go the save the children charity.
there are several songs streaming off their actual site, so go check them out at coloursarebrighter.com.
have you heard of the "internet"?January 13, 2006 - 04:53 PM
eduardo sent me a link to this 1993 news clip about this thing called the "internet."
have you heard of it?
here, watch the video and learn all about it.
it's totally tapping my yearing to connect.
so much for prideNovember 30, 2005 - 05:33 PM
juju and alice and i are like 13 years old today.
juju found a clip of the hot rain scene and we are going gaga.
it's all about that look when they want to kiss but don't.
if i didn't have just a little bit of pride and wasn't so prejudiced, i might actually type a "*swoon*" and man, i don't even really like period dramas.
ps. juju wants to know why the entire movie couldn't be like this scene.
yay for alice!November 30, 2005 - 11:02 AM
talk about coinky-dinks. last nite i use a blingo movie ticket to go see pride & prejudice, and then alice, intrigued by my mention of mr. darcy does a search for him and TA DA! she wins us blingo! blingo brings blingo! i heart it!
so there you have it, more proof that people win blingo! so go join now and we both can win some more! yay!
like i needed something to waste time onOctober 22, 2005 - 08:28 AM
yesterday bao sent me a link to this game called notpron. it's this myst like game where you have to get thru all the levels. the point is to look at the picture figure out the clue get the password and move on.
i really didn't need something to waste time, but now i'm hooked.
if you check it out you should be sure to start "view> source" when you're stuck. also the address bar is a good place to look. and google.
anyway. i'm only on level 10, i have a bajillion more levels to go.
only 70 of 5.5+ million have solved it and i want to be 71.
dine for americaOctober 03, 2005 - 11:51 AM
this wednesday (oct. 5) is "Dine For America" day. a bunch of restaurants nationwide are donating profits (or partial profits, or just some money) to the red cross for hurricane katrita relief.
anyone need a dinner date?
rome is burningSeptember 21, 2005 - 09:36 AM
I was listening to forum on the way in to work today. It was the author of a book called "Results: Find out how to keep what's good,
fix what's wrong, and unlock great performance." Pretty much it's a personality test and answers for companies and organizations.
Being part of what I would consider a failing organization, I had to take the quiz.
This answer was part of the result and my oh my how apt.
"Having secured a large and defensible market position, they are now fiddling while Rome slowly burns."
food blog!August 19, 2005 - 01:00 PM
um, if i wasn't so lazy, my site would be more like this:
i won!August 17, 2005 - 10:53 AM
woo-hoo! i just won me a blingo prize. johnny was asking me about !!!'s cover of mag field's take ecstasy with me song. i went to blingo to find him a stream or download and VIOLA! i win! what a weird search string though "!!! take ecstasy" oh my.
anyways if you haven't joined, go join now and we both can win! i like free stuffs!
such sad little bearsJuly 13, 2005 - 02:28 PM
|the dears have a new video for 22: death of all the romance. the animation is a little jerky in places, but it's cute/bittersweet (just the reason why i heart the dears). also, from what i understand they couldn't get funding or label help and nearly ran out of time. i don't quite get the live band clips and think it's a little jarring with the aesthetic. but it's definitely worth watching and not nearly as dopey as their last two videos.|
the amazing raceJuly 13, 2005 - 01:22 PM
okay i have a secret/not-so-secret love for the amazing race. i am always so envious of those people racing around the world. well looks like i could give it a try myself. they've got open casting calls this weekend in san jose. and not just anywhere in san jose. about 5 miles from our house san jose.
should we give it a go?
randall (mr. needs his sleep, needs his food, hates to hike) and me on tv?
blingo!July 06, 2005 - 02:00 PM
samshrew total just won us some movie tickets on blingo!|
if you don't know what blingo is, here's a little re-cap:
idogJune 27, 2005 - 04:20 PM
|and since i'm wasting my afternoon, here's another more amazing accessory that i NEED. with a capital NEED. it's the segagtoy idog ipod speaker.|
lambretta twistJune 27, 2005 - 04:12 PM
|scottel sent me this video link today.
i've been talking about getting a scooter for like 10 years now. maybe i should actually do it. i probably missed the hipster boat, but they still look so fun, and who am i to turn down fun.
maybe if my house and work were nearby so that i could just put-put on over. then maybe i'd do it...
vote for baoApril 17, 2005 - 02:12 PM
so bao took that picture.
it's pretty impressive. i can hardly believe it's not been photoshopped.
so yah, bao's got an impressive photo and it's great but also sort of sad to me.
he's total fading me in the art front.
but until then, check out a close up of bao's photo. and while you're there vote for him.
and you want to see that, right?
update: bao won and got himself a fancy new digital camera. yeah bao.
wes "dasani" andersonMarch 23, 2005 - 02:45 PM
|wes anderson directed these dasani water spots. i dunno what i think yet. i guess a man's gotta eat now doesn't he?|
over timeMarch 18, 2005 - 04:44 PM
alicia from the chiclist sent this link to me.
it's a strangely surreal and beautiful animation. sort of a jim henson tribute.
the site says it's free for a limited time. so check it out while you can.
oh and i think it's beautiful, but cindy said it was creeping the shit out of her....you decide.
most awesomest sweaterFebruary 07, 2005 - 10:29 AM
|on saturday juju called to say, "OMG!!! i am watching the arrested development dvd and randall's SWEATER IS ON IT!" (okay so i'm paraphrasing a bit, but that's essentially what she said).
we heart arrested development.
after i got off the phone with juju i had to call samshrew and let her know. she thinks arrested development is AH fantastic and she totally jocks the sweater too. a few hours later she emailed us a link to a screenshot. and holy cow, wouldn't you know. it IS the same sweater. here is a photo of gob in the GLORIOUS sweater.
it's a beauty, isn't it?
sidenote: if you're not watching arrested development, you really should.
sometimes the future makes me happyFebruary 03, 2005 - 12:49 PM
|i saw this linked off of slashdot today.|
edible paper sushi!
and food made with lasers?
potential inside out bread?
lucky for randall i'm a girl of my word. else i'd run away to chicago and stalk mr. cantu.
he's obviously a genius.
Photographs by Peter Thompson for The New York Times. i stole them right off their server too. so if it's broken they're on to me or something.
turtle mommyJanuary 06, 2005 - 03:46 PM
oh good god, this is probably the cutest real life thing i've seen in quite some time.
read about them at this bbc article.
video killed the radio starJanuary 04, 2005 - 02:32 PM
sitting at work looking for some seu jorge mp3s to tide me over until i can get around to buying the life aquatic soundtrack.
at least i was until i got distracted.
i heard about the new interpol video for evil a week or so ago, but kept forgetting to check it out. and on my seu jorge search i stumbled across a reference to the new interpol video and said, "oh yah, let's check it out shall we?"
my god it's bad.
and i like interpol.
it's just so ridiculously hokey.
and i know it's just a music video budget and that a lot of good people probably worked really hard on it. but really. it doesn't seem very interpol-ish at all. my theory is that they just didn't want to take time away from their neverending 4 year tour (which, by the way, they are touring again).
that or someone said, "hey i know this artist guy charlie white! he does work with these creepy puppets." to which someone else said, "sure why not, then we won't have to do anything."
charlie white may be an interesting photographer with a schtick, but this video just doesn't work well. c'est la vie i suppose. i didn't like it.
in order to cleanse the pallete, i had to watch a few other videos.
check out the new roots manuva collosal insight". not an amazing video, but i always like his style. strange that he has a puppet too...
also it's a hit from rilo kiley. fun animation. can't go wrong with light bright. perhaps you could even pretend it's a puppet...
okay now back to work slacker.
pam on kdvsJanuary 02, 2005 - 05:16 PM
ps. it's over now. you missed it.

beavis is running the countryOctober 29, 2004 - 11:32 AM
this is circulating the internet, and i think it's part of my patriotic duty to help circulate this. mr. president before he was president, it's a flipping good time. i don't want to say more than that, because i don't want to give the goods away. just check it out here. man, he always look so pleased with himself, doesn't he?
total (lunar) eclipse of the heart.October 27, 2004 - 04:14 PM
the dears are the bestOctober 26, 2004 - 01:57 PM
okay i am always harping on and on about the dears. well i found this link for you so that you can hear what i'm always going on about for yourselves. seriously, they are the best. i highly suggest we can have it, the second part, pinned together..., 22....ah hell, they're all good, just some better than others.
go on, go discover what you're missing...
my sceneOctober 18, 2004 - 10:31 PM
oh while we were at toys r us, i saw the weirdest tagline in a barbie myscene doll. it said, "so much for bbq, hello tv dinners" and he even came with tv dinners. can anyone explain?? he's going "out with the girls" and all he can offer is tv dinners???
pixel pusherOctober 15, 2004 - 02:40 PM
sometimes it hits me.
i shouldn't hate my job as much as i think i do.
today i'm happily pushing pixels around
and listening to this american life.
that's really not so bad.
