Chickflickwit

November 29, 2005 - 11:01 PM [ on the run ]
samshrew gave me an almost expired blingo ticket, I had to use it by tomorrow, so juju and I ended up having chickflick night tonight. For some reason I wanted to see pride and predjudice. I think it's because my britspy MI-5 boyfriend is in it. Okay, so I know that's why...Anyway I sms'd juju to see if she wanted to go. We met up at my house at 7. I had tossed a few cookies in the oven (pays to freeze the dough for future use), so we waited for those and then we went and grabbed a coffee (i had my second dissapointing pumpkin flavored thing this week). then we went to the theatre with our knitting and blankets in one hand and coffee and cookie pouch (they were hot so I wrapped them in foil) in the other.we are going to be ridiculous old ladies someday. Sidenote: my britspy boyfriend is sometimes goofy looking but man that cliche scene in the rain.....oh and the movie was decent but a bit too cute for my taste. Total chickflick party.

his name is matthew macfadyen and he pulls off that brooding mr. darcy so fantastic. after the movie juju and i giggled like school girls about the rain scene and the walking thru the sunrise fog scene. then juju said, "he has bad skin." wah wah. when i got home i talked to randall and he asked how "tom" (that's his name in MI-5) was in the movie and i told him all fantastic in the rain and then randall said, "yah, but he has bad skin."

so sad, but he's still pretty hot.

oh and i just read that the US got the longer alternate ending...the UK version ends with mr. bennet giving consent (come on, i'm not ruining the film here, there have been a trillion adaptations and most people had to read the book in high school anyway) and us yanks get the cheesey scene at the end. interesting...
