Sushi payback
 | last night alice came over around 7pm. i'd invited her over for dinner in march, but we'd been playing scheduling games ever since. i wanted to say sorry for practically puking in her car. |
i wanted to have everything prepped when she arrived. it took a lot less time than i thought and made me wonder why i don't make sushi on a regular basis. cutting the veggies took the longest and that didn't really take that long at all. i was ready to start making rolls when i realized i didn't have any nori. which is pretty stupid considering we were at the grocery store the night before and randall asked me "do you have nori?" and i said, "no i better get some."
so when alice arrived we hopped into the car and went to safeway for nori. the cashier asked who was making sushi, i said i was and she asked what kind. i said tuna and she seemed impressed. she said she was only able to do california rolls. but really, if you can do a california roll, you can do a tuna roll. just substitute artificial crab with tuna. ask yer grocery for sashimi grade tuna and go to town.
when we got home we made a bunch of rolls, watched some craft corner deathmatch (i think i hate this show, but i can't stop watching it). then we sat and chatted for a few hours. it ended up being a really lovely evening. alice uses that word sincerely, i like it.
around 10:40 alice left for the evening. originally i was going to ask her if she wanted to head to lipstick to hang out with the work sorority (it seems over in the other building, it is mostly ladies in the dept - including camille & niki), but the evening was so low key i had decided that i didn't want to go out afterall.
i'm so busted.
i hope the sorority doesn't use the paddle.
