my moving castle

June 21, 2005 - 08:38 AM [ on the run ]

friday was an interesting day at work. when i left the house randall wanted to know if i wanted to go get all i could eat sushi in davis. i told him i probably wouldn't be able to, i was having a one-on-one with kari (my boss). we've had bad morale lately (we took a survey that said so), so she wanted to see how everything was, talk with all of us one-on-one... so i decided i'd take the time to drop the news.

i'm moving.

yep after 3 years of this place, i'm moving. i don't really want to quit -- okay, that's a lie, we all know that, so let me rephrase -- i don't really know how to quit. i'd want to find a new job first and i want to be really selective about where i work next. so we're going to work out a telecommuting strategy and see how that goes.

ironically while i was in that awkward meeting i received some fruitmail in my inbox. they want to chat. so i wrote back. now i sit and wait.

for dinner randall and i went to natomas chicken & ribs (not affiliated with the antelope house of chicken and ribs - or so the sign strangely states). maybe i was secretly celebrating fruitmail step one. either way i ate the ENTIRE plate of bbq ribs.

after dinner settled randall and i went to the gym to work it off. we only seem to make it there twice a week. we really should aim for 4 or 5. then maybe we'd go at least 3.

after that we met wes & juju in roseville for some howl's moving castle. it was pretty good, but not amazing. it's not miyazaki original and it didn't make me say "WAH! i want to live in his head!" but it still left me thinking it was pretty decent. i hear it's only loosely based on the book by Diana Wynne Jones, but now i want to read it.

fu read the book and said the only thing he could've gotten from the book is that she's olds. and that the book isn't much better than the movie, basically. so save yourself some reading time. i mean, hp6 is on the way!! fruity fruit fruits!
