lunchtime pact
last night andrew, james, david and i made a pact.
we were going to have lunch outside.
it was mostly for andrew's benefit, because he works too hard.
at around noon david said, "right, then it's lunch outside."
but andrew wasn't biting, so david and i went outside without him.
in a little while, steve saw us and joined us.
and a bit after that, james decided to join us outside as well.
(with what was at least his 5th caffeinated beverage of the day.)
eventually andrew came to claim his sandwich at nadia's.
but he did not sit with us, he had stuff he had to do and went back in.

coupland
for a while douglas coupland was my favorite author. who knows maybe he still is. his new book is coming out soon.
and it's being made into a movie. and you can read the beginning of it. and that is exciting.
pocket lint.
galaxie 500 - ceremony
ceremony is one of my favorite new order songs and i love it when a band takes another bands song and really
makes it there own without being cheesy.
fun with english.
barney
argument, disagreement, fight!
"We'll have a barney over that on Wednesday." <-- actual quote taken from adam.

honestly unintentional email boycott
when i got home from work i was going to make dinner and watch a movie.
(i rented little voice from the library the other day)
but i never got around to it.
i made my dinner, but wasn't really in the mood to watch a film.
so i had vegetable soup, which i made extra noodles for, and read.
then i decided i'd write some emails,
(it's been about 2.5 weeks since i've written any.)
but i just couldn't do it.
i am the crap correspondent friend, and well i never said otherwise.
so i sort of sat around listening to the new new order album.
a lot of the california troops are off to see them at moby's area one.
except for scottel who was instant messaging me,
saying how much he'd like to go.

i love modern day technology
later, i was up way too late and scottel messaged me again.
he wanted to say that the troops had called him from the show.
"they call...they broadcast...i listen...i type."
i got jealous and wanted to hear too,
but i know they can't make international calls on their cellphones.
so i called them.
randall had no idea who was on the phone, he couldn't hear a thing.
(i sort of wondered why he even bothered to answer it and/or how he heard it.)
i kept yelling "I JUST WANT TO LISTEN."
eventually he figured out who it was and went back to whooping and screaming.
so i got myself a glass of water and sat in the dark and just listened.
(at least, until randall's battery cut out.)
and it was interestingly nice (if not a bit tinny) to be on this side of the world,
listening to my friends enjoy a concert on that side of the world.
and obviously i don't feel like i was there,
but strangely i feel like i got to experience it (well a tiny part of it anyhow).
oh how i love modern day technology.
