so much for school nights...

ham and swiss baguette

one of these days...
one of these afternoons i am going to remember to think about lunch.
this way i'll know what i want before i even go across the street.
but, it wasn't this afternoon.
once again i was resigned to pointing at the sandwiches.
luckily i ended up with a good one.
ham and swiss with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and mustard.
the trick was in the mustard.
i'm going to have to remember to ask for mustard.

pork links.

is this you?
if you've ever left a photo behind somewhere chances are you could be here. (especially if you live in london).

pocket lint.

aisler set - one half laughing
such pop belongs straight out of the 50s. you'll be bopping along and singing before you know it.

fun with english.

catapult
i'm pretty sure this means slingshot.

"Those kids were shooting birds with a catapult."

4 years for bob

4 years for bob
at 12:30 we all headed down to the pub.
i had an orange lemonade.
bob was celebrating his 4th year at the company.
while we were down at the pub, bob talked about rockets.
someone got him started.
alastair was also talking about this guy he knew.
apparently this guy had made a bonus of over 200,000 pounds just in january.
he is only 28.
that means i have a little less than 5 years to catch up.

down at the pub

do the math, rain = pub
later in the afternoon we had a company all hands meeting.
since they take place back in santa cruz, we get to watch them on the web.
and they're even more boring online then they are in person.
afterwards i don't think anyone could sit still anymore.
so we went to the pub.
that and some of us are on bikes and it was raining.
so we decided to go to the pub to sit the rain out.
we were there for a long time. james and mikey played pool.
we played some tunes on the jukebox, and then some darts.
toby kept buying me drinks, so much for straightedge on a school night...

pot noodle

wet, drunk, cold and miserable
by the time we left the pub, it was raining again.
and it was starting to get dark. (nearly 10pm)
i rode home and i felt a bit tipsy, but sobered up quickly.
it was, afterall raining.
mentalnote to self: get raingear.
when i got home i was miserably tired (thanks to the drinks) and wet.
the "trousers" i'd had on were pretty thin and soaked.
my legs had that permanently cold feeling.
so i pulled on some sweats and tried to find dinner.
i didn't feel like cooking, so i thought i'd have some cereal.
unfortunately when i poured the milk, it came out it clumps.
i checked the experation date, july 22. so you tell me.
in the end i had a cup of spicy hot noodles.
and that was probably better anyway...
