making sandwiches.

please, let's not have fast food.
this morning we headed over to the house for one last task.
we had a few more boards to paint and the floor to vacuum.
my dad was already there and we wanted to keep him company.
once we finished, we sent him home and said we'd buy stuff for lunch.
we were really going to go get his father's day gift.
but it had been impossible to get it before then.
we got him shirts and shorts and more clothes.
samshrew got him a hawaiian shirt.
afterwards we went to the store and bought rolls, salami, tomatoes, etc.

pork links.

pseudo dictionary
thanks to rick for introducing me to the psuedo dictionary. i think i'm going to have to add an entry or two...

pocket lint.

baxter - ballad of behaviour
scottelbot sent me this, i think it's nice, but not that interesting. i bet they would be great live though.

fun with american.

# - pound
in the US we call this a pound sign, obviously the british call this "£" a pound sign, thus they call # a "hash symbol"

"Please hit pound after the beep." (on the phone)

cookies

pigs eating cookies
after lunch we gave my dad his father's day present.
i think he was genuinely surprised.
i mean he thought we took an awful long time to buy tomatoes,
but he wasn't expecting any gifts.
also after lunch, we made som cookies.
most of them got eaten before they could even cool.
there were chocolate caramel and white chocolate macadamia nuts.

on the train

mr. cowboy is not happy.
this evening i had to get back to santa cruz.
i had to be in the office tomorrow.
so i rode the amtrak train.
i'd never ridden an amtrak train before.
the experience was okay, except that around fairfield,
a frieght train in front of us died, and we couldn't get around it.
so we had to wait about 45 minutes.
there was this cowboy guy in front of me who sat cursing to himself.
i guess he was going to be late.
hello mr. cowboy man, we are all going to be late.
it was really hot on the train, even with air conditioning.
the central valley is that way,
so i bought some cold water and some chips.
