gotta love that pink box
yesterday at the ranch, we also bought a box of chinese pastries.
so when we woke up, samshrew and i devoured them.
when i was younger, my mom used to come home with these boxes.
they're bright pink and sort of look like donut boxes,
but we knew they weren't real donuts, but chinese pastries.
the pineapple red bean paste ones were also one of my favorites.
it's the kind i had today.

this means great or brilliant. it's also the word i've stopped using the most since moving to the uk.
because you have to admit, it just makes you sound so american.

after breakfast, we had to go to the old house.
my parents want to rent it out asap.
but first they had to clean it up, renovate and paint the inside.
this meant there was a lot of work to do.
so my dad, samshrew, bao and i got in the car and headed over there.
bao and my dad hadn't eaten breakfast yet, so we stopped at mcdonald's.
apparently they have really great yogurt parfaits.
i stole some of theirs. they had also bought samshrew and i egg biscuit things.
so we both pigged out and ate them too.

hey! sandwiches!
when we got to the house, i was put in charge of staining cabinets.
there are an awful lot of cabinets in their house.
at first it was fun, but then it was just annoying.
and it was about 100 degress in sacramento, so that added to the fun.
later in the day, my mom came over with sandwiches.
they were on grilled bread and were nice and tasty.
it was good to take a break in the afternoon,
as we were there until the evening.

the problem with doing things like this is,
when you go home for the day, everyone is so tired,
and no one really wants to cook.
but everyone is starving.
so you end up eating junk food/fast food.
today after painting all day, we headed to kfc.
bao had gone with his friends to burn this past year's school notes,
and my mom was finishing up some cleaning in the house,
so samshrew and my dad and i devoured the kfc food.
sidenote: this is just the beginning of the weekend of junk food,
but please trust me when i say we never eat this much junk food.
