i bet he could use a watch
we sat around chatting and eating breakfast until i decided to go.
i was driving to santa cruz and i had a few errands to run before hand.
tomorrow is randall's birthday and i still needed to buy him a gift.
i just didn't know what to get the guy who has everything
(obviously he doesn't have everything, but i can never remember what he doesn't have).
on my way down i stopped at the stanford shopping mall in palo alto.
i felt really out of place, like i was faking it.
who do you think is shopping in palo alto snobby outdoor mall on a friday from 1-3?
rich housewives and spoiled high school children spending daddy's money.
(sure that's generalized, but i'm positive it isn't unemployed adults who live with their parents
although, if their parents were rich enough perhaps it was...).
once i found the ideal gift i skeedaddled out of there and went on a wild goosechase.
apparently you can't get the normal legos sets (ie: town, garden) without ordering them
(unless you buy the giant tubs of legos).
i tried to look for them all day long.
but after 2 toy stores, 3 mega-marts, and 1 mall i decided it was a moot point.
i wanted to get those little lego flowers to bring to randall's work.
but since there was none, i i settled for playdoh flowers instead.
then i drove to his work to surprise him with a bouquet.
but when i got there, the reception was awol so i couldn't even ask her to deliver them
(so much for planning).
i ended up kidnapping randall and running off to jamba juice instead.

picnic party
when we driving back from jamba juice we realized we should have just gone to santa cruz.
if we had left then we could have avoided all traffic.
but now we would be driving straight into it.
so we decided to go to the mall.
while there randall guessed his birthday gifts and i had to pretend like he was wrong.
his guesses were pretty random, i'm not sure how he figured it out,
but i think i threw him off the ideas at least.
afterwards we headed over the hill and went to well within.
we had a spa appointment at 9:30 and i was ready for it.
shopping all day in chunky heels (it was the pair i'd brought to wear to the planet party)
had killed my legs and all i wanted to do was melt away.
afterwards we were both so tired and lazy to cook.
so we stopped at vallarta and grabbed some quesadillas to go.
i didn't feel like socializing with anyone, so we snuck the food upstairs to randall's room.
then we laid a blanket on the floor and had a picnic.
