this morning i got up and did what i always do.
eat cereal and read the paper.
it's really ridiculous.
i never had the time to read the whole paper before.
so i would usually read the headlines and a few choice comics.
now i read the whole thing, cover to cover, section by section.
and it takes a really long time.
but i can't stop because i don't have anything pressing to do.
and it's actually sort of annoying.
it just takes so long.

why am i so hungry?
this afternoon i decided i would try to make a skirt.
but instead of measuring anything, or making a pattern,
i just took one of my other skirts and traced it.
it didn't work as well as i imagined.
when bao got home from school my mom made dinner.
we had spinach, sausage, rice, and thinly sliced beef.
i don't know what you'd call it,
but it's the same sort of beef that's in pho soup.

which way did it go?
after dinner bao and i went to check the mail.
there was a little black puppy running around barking.
we tried to read the tags on his collar,
but he wouldn't hold still and kept running away.
so we followed him around.
we ran into jodi who was also trying to get the dog.
she said the dog belonged to her neighbor across the street,
but that they were gone and the dog had been out all day.
we decided we'd put the dog into their backyard.
but he wouldn't stop running away, so we gave up and went back in.
