more than toast
this morning i got up, had breakfast (red bean toast) and amazingly checked my email.
(i'm really bad with email, and my current limited internet access doesn't help).
in my inbox was an email from joanna.
i haven't talked to her in about a year, and haven't seen her in even longer.
we were never super close,
but she's one of those friends you don't have to talk everyday.
those are my favorite type of friends,
as i've been voted worst correspondent friend three years in a row
(i'm hoping to take that title all the way to nationals next year).
sidenote: speaking of email, i always forget to write the ones i wanted to,
so quickly, hey brianb: thanks for inviting us, hope you found your vending machines.

less than a staple gun
like most email coincidences, i happened to be writing joanna when she wrote me.
so once she got mine, she called me up.
i didn't talk to her very long when my mom requested some errands be ran.
(i have become her personal secretary, which is another indication that it is time to move).
so i hung up the phone and hopped in the car.
i ended up having to drive to four different banks, the post office and the grocery store.
and apparently everyone else in the world needed to go to the banks too,
because at each one, the line was incredibly long.
after the first one, i stopped at jamba juice for a pineapple passion smoothie,
then i stood in line at the next bank for so long, i finished it all.

of packed bags and thrown suitcases
when i got back from the banks, my mom had a fit.
apparently i hadn't gotten the right receipt.
(who knew banks had more than one kind of receipt).
she started screaming at me and so i reverted back into my 17 year old self.
which meant i started screaming too.
then i stormed upstairs and brooded.
soon she called us all down to eat dinner, but i was still mad.
so i went downstairs and yelled some more.
then i went back upstairs and started throwing everything i own into suitcases.
but i didn't really have anywhere to go.
so i just calmed down and eventually my mom and i made up
(meaning we pretended nothing happened) and i ate some dinner.
fried shrimp, fish, bok choy and more mixed together with ramen noodles and soup.
