tortillas for breakfast

one last crossword
this morning i tried not too sleep in too late.
it only worked a little bit, i should have tried harder.
at 10:30 i went downstairs for breakfast.
i decided to have tortillas with cinnamon and brown sugar.
the tortillas have been sitting there for a while,
and i was afraid they were going to start to mold.
so i ate two tortillas and helped grandma with one more crossword puzzle.

tuesday chef
a really bad cook

"He invited you to dinner? You better eat before you go, he's a tuesday chef."

or alternatively,

"This food tastes bad. He cooks like it's tuesday."

breakfast for dinner

tuesday chefs...
later, when bao got home, my dad decided we should go out to eat.
he thought it would be fun to have breakfast for dinner and suggested ihop.
(which if you don't know stands for international house of pancakes).
it'd been quite some time since we'd been there, so we said sure.
i ordered the breakfast sampler, which was pancakes, eggs and meat.
the food was okay, but not amazing.
i wondered why this place was always packed on the weekends.
then i realized, the chef there today must work tuesday nights for a reason.
his food was not sunday morning post-church (which is nearby) quality.

cinnabon at the airport

airport security
after eating breakfast for dinner, we came home.
we sort of sat around talking, my mom however made no eye contact.
a few hours later we put grandma's bags into the van and drove to the airport.
we got the airport earlier than we needed to
(grandma was worried as she once missed a flight due to traffic)
and so we had some time to kill.
so we grabbed a cinnabon cinnamon roll and talked some more.
after a while grandma didn't want to sit there anymore,
but we couldn't go with her all the way to the terminal, so we said farewell.
i don't think she'll be coming back.
