this morning my family left to go shopping.
yep, we went shopping, as a family, on christmas eve.
not the world's smartest idea.
but i needed to buy a suitcase,
and there's always those last minute christmas things.
my mom and i ended up being out all day, hunting a jacket.
i didn't find one.
before we left home,
i grabbed a bag of cookies from the tin.
they were chocolate and the brand was munchy.
anyone ever heard of munchy brand cookies?

my favorite christmas related memory: riding in wes' car with max and wes at the presidio (in san francisco) on a sunny quiet july afternoon with white christmas playing on the radio full blast and none of us saying a word.

i've never seen him on christmas eve before, so it didn't feel like i should miss him.

when we were done shopping,
my mom and i were going to pick up food for dinner.
so we called my dad and told him not to cook,
but when we got to the restaurant, it was closed already.
we tried to call them and tell them to join us at another place,
but the line was busy.
so we had to go home empty-handed.
i was starving by the time we got home,
so my mom whipped up some dinner with stuff lying around the kitchen.
we had this meatloaf thing, rice, fried greens and some tofu.
the tofu dish was the best, if not too sweet.
and well even though her meatloaf is probably the best there is,
i'm admitting now that i really don't like meatloaf.
