so i had to go to the city today.
i had an appointment with the US Passport Agency.
i tried to renew my passport and it came back incorrectly spelt.
so i sent it back to fix it, and it was still wrong.
apparently it had been added as an addendum on page 23. just typed on.
so if you ever have to change your name, just type it on page 23.
on my way to the agency, i decided to grab a coffee.
and in the soma area, the only apparent choice is starbucks.
there is literally one on every block.
but that's okay, because right now they have a great eggnog latte.
unfortunately the girl who was making the drinks was obviously pretty new
to the starbucks job, as she managed to practically burn herself with the steamer.
the other girl started yelling at her to be more careful and i felt pretty bad.
then they looked at the thermometer which tells them how hot the drink is.
the new girl asked if it would be okay,
the other girl, obviously not enjoying her job at the starbucks in the metreon,
said, "sure, fine."
but let me tell you, that eggnog latte was too hot.

so i felt pretty stupid having driven all the way to the city for no reason.
so i decided to stop by the virgin megastore to at least make the drive worthwhile.
but there were too many things that i wanted,
so i decided not to get anything.
although i really wanted to spend at least $100 because,
they're giving away this kick ass u2 poster.
it looks like a airline safety card and i want it.
(if you have one and want to give it to someone who will love it forever and ever.
please send it to me, thanks.)
when i got back to work (the passport was considered business, so i had to come back),
i got a sesame bagel and a plate full of sandwich fixings right before the cafe closed.

today was thursday, so guess what, sushi night.
i'm sort of tired of having a routine night,
although it sometimes is really nice to have something to look forward to each week.
we decided to go early, so we went at eight.
what a mistake, it was so ridiculously busy.
we ended up sitting at a table instead of the bar.
i had the vegetable tempura appetizer as well as the osaka maki roll.
afterwards we went to the bookstore where, finally, they have my magazine.
i've decided that smock is the new magazine to read.
go figure now that i finally find an american magazine
that i enjoy more than the usual british mags, i plan on moving.
i wonder if smock does international subscriptions?
