today was bao's last day at work. last days are always sort of strange. they're always melancholic and somewhat introspective. you look at the departing person and feel sad that they're leaving and at the same time think, "wow. they're leaving and i'm still here. why i am still here?"
since bao is my brother and a lot younger than me, it made it even more weird. how did i end up here?...for lunch we went to emma's. we decided it would be a good place to take him so that he could have one last burrito pillow. it's their special burrito.
we call it the burrito pillow because it is seriously the size of a small pillow. like the kind you would get on an airline.

after work bao and i headed home where i had some time to kill before i went to pick up samshrew. she's visiting this weekend and i had to pick her up a the shuttle stop in davis. when it was time to leave bao and randall decided they didn't want to go, so i went by myself. randall said he'd make dinner instead. samshrew's shuttle was supposed to be there at 8. i got there at around 8:05, but apparently the shuttle got there at 7:40. sucks to be samshrew i suppose, standing around waiting. but i think she got over
it pretty quickly, because when we got home randall had made spicy kung pao shrimp and spicy fried rice (no eggs, randall won't eat them). shrimp is her favorite so i think she was okay.
