last meal alone?
this afternoon bao and i went to the pot belly deli for lunch.
when we got there we saw our boss kevin. he was eating lunch with some guy i didn't
recognize. i didn't want to get into a forced "hey, how's it going, good lunch, huh?"
sort of conversation, so we ended up sitting on the other side of the deli. i had the
turkeycado sandwich with cranberry sauce. while we were there i realized that this
might be the last meal that bao and i go out to lunch together, just the two of us. well
the last for a while anyhow.

holy-canolli, i found them.
at the pot belly deli there are a bunch of various snacks to add at the last minute.
sort of like the checkout area at the grocery store. candy bars, chips, sodas, cookies,
mints, etc. today i noticed a new bucket of snack-sized mentos near the cash register. at first
i thought i was crazy, but there they were, the coveted apple mentos.

i won't quit my day job
this evening i decided i would make dinner. randall's become quite good chef lately, and he's been doing
most of the cooking. so i decided i would make dinner tonite. but i didn't know what i wanted to make.
i had taken chicken out of the freezer earlier, but i didn't know what i was making.
after an hour of internal debate, i realized it was already really late, so oven-cooking anything
was going to take too long. so i decided to fry. i made chicken covered in a dijon-mustard bread crumb
coating. but apparently i had the skillet on too high, because when i put it in to cook, most
of the outside burned right off. i guess i need more practice...
