08.31.03 - the great redecoration continues |

touch-up
this morning i woke up, rolled out of bed and started painting right away.
even though we had masked the ceiling and trim, the paint had bled thru. i think
it's because of the textured walls. at anyrate i had to take a small brush and clean up
all the edges. after randall had read the paper i made him help out too. he got to put on the
second coat. and then finally put together some ikea furniture. unfortunately one of the pieces
was damaged. i hope i can find the receipt...

family time
at 6pm we headed over to my parent's house. they were having a small barbecue and had invited
us over. they also invited jason and rachel. they recently moved back from china, but my
mom hadn't really seen them much. they're moving into a house around the corner from hers so
she thought it would be a nice gesture. when we got there, there was so much food. they were
making bbq steaks, corn, potatoes and more. also, jason & rachel had brought a pizza and we had
brought chicken. my mom got irritated because we brought food and randall got irritated because
my mom got irritated. i think those two will always irritate each other.

they close at 11.
at 9:15 we said goodbye to my family and told them we were going to wal-mart. randall
had gone to a bunch of places looking for a bike and finally decided on a schwinn
we saw at wal-mart (which, by the way, was the first place we looked). when we left,
my mom told us we were wrong and that the store would be closed. she wanted to bet
a month's mortgage on it, but i didn't shake on it. i should have though,
apparently wal-mart is open until 11.
