we didn't really have an agenda for today. so we got up and decided to watch fillmore, but it was a repeat. so i wasted a lot of time reading some dumb online comic about the rescue rangers instead (i loved the rescue rangers when i was a kid). it was over 200 pages and i read them all. randall gave up on page 15 or so. when i finally finished we decided to go to the nearby shopping center and check things off of the checklist. the first thing on the list was coffee. randall had iced coffee and i had a single grande soy chai. when did i become that complicated?

after walking around a jillion stores and buying nothing, we decided to go to the bookstore. but we didn't find anything there either. so we went to the record store. they were having a sale on the beach boys, so i bought pet sounds. i feel like i should have already owned it by now. afterwards we went to costco for what i call a sonya special (my old housemate sonya used to go to costco to have "lunch" by eating all samples). but we were too late for samples. so we made our purchase and left hungry.

at 7:30 we drove to the sweet bean in elk grove. bao's band, the BPs, was playing at 8. we arrived a little late, but we saw most of their set. i was surprised by how good they sounded (too bad bao's quitting soon). afterwards my dad, sister, jorn, randall and i stood outside trying to figure out what we were going to do (we didn't want to stay for the other bands). we ended up talking for over an hour and still no one had any ideas. so randall and i said farewell and drove home.
