 pot belly convoy |
 |
off to the deli
i wanted to leave early today, so i decided not to go to the gym during lunch. i was just going to stay and work thru lunch, but at around 12:30 bao wanted to know if we were going to go get anything to eat. he'd never been to the pot belly before, so i decided we should go there. stacey and heather joined us as well. we didn't stay long, just picked up the food and came back. but it's always nice to get out of the office, if even for just a few minutes. i had the turkey-cado on dutch crunch with cranberry sauce. i still can't figure out how that's the best sandwich combo ever, but it is.

sleep the clock around
at 5pm randall came and picked me up from work. we were heading to berkeley to see belle & sebastian and bright eyes. i was having mixed feelings about going. none of our friends were going, it was at a big outdoor venue, it had rained the night before, and i hadn't really enjoyed the recent belle & sebastian albums (they've sort of lost their lackluster). but we had $35 dollar tickets and no one to sell them to, so we decided to go anyway. I AM SO GLAD WE DID. it was one of the best shows i had seen in quite some time. their new stuff reminds me of the beach boys meets the brady bunch (in a good way) and the old stuff was spectacular. and the show in general was just too much fun. stuart talks to the audience like they are all old pals of his and the venue was just fantastic. that's not a really compelling show review. but take my word for it, it was great. also, bright eyes opened, and for some reason i always miss him when he comes around and after seeing him i realize now that all those missed opportunities are just a crying shame. he also was brilliant. sidenote: for those of you who want more show photos, i'll post a link once they have a home on a server somewhere...

 blondie's pizza |
 |
berkeley in the evening
after the show randall and i headed over to telegraph to grab a bite to eat. we were originally going to go to what my sister (who goes to cal) lovingly calls "the asian ghetto" (a grouping of about 10 "fast" asian food restaurants), but we decided on blondie's pizza instead. randall had the last slice of cheese, so i decided on this strange chicken concoction. i should've asked for the cheese. afterwards we headed over to the sweetheart cafe where i had an apple freeze with pearls. (boba-tea style).
