everybody happy
today was birthday day. once a month we have this faux celebration where we get one
gigantic cake and someone sends out an email saying "happy birthday to X, Y, Z, etc. now go eat cake."
it also happened to be kevin's real birthday. kevin is the one who had to send the email yesterday
saying we couldn't get raises. but he's also the boss guy. our group told him happy birthday
and he sorta half smiled/laughed. i think he felt uncomfortable because he knew we had to be upset.
also, he has this really weird laugh that sounds faked. i often wonder if it is. sidenote: today's cake
was really good. usually they're just these plain ol' store bought sheet cakes. but today, marble swirl.

how is my performance?
at around 12 kari sent out an email saying we were having a meeting at 1 and sorry for such the short notice.
the email also said it would be a conference call with one of our vendor people. i really hate conference calls.
we used to have them at my old work all the time (because of the whole two continent problem) and i don't know
why, but i became a conference call loather. they always last too long and everyone is trying to talk at
once and you have no idea how many people are on either end. just a hassle.
sidenote: yah, i know everyone wants to click on the photos and make them larger but it's not going to happen. sorry.

time to get schooled
i left work a little bit early today in order to get to school on time.
yes you read that correctly, i am going back to school (well at least part-time and for fun).
i decided to enroll in a litho/silk-screen class and today was the first meeting.
when i walked into the room i couldn't believe how small the facility was. i'm not sure it's
exactly what i had in mind, but i think it could be fun and i've already paid for the fees and student id card,
so i might as well give it a go. after i sat down a familiar looking guy walked thru the door,
it was aaron. i don't know him all that well, but he's one of those familiar faces you've had coffee
with before. and it was sorta nice to know someone already, even though i think he's going to drop the class.
oh well, his loss, i'll make other friends.
sidenote: right now the next door neighbor is playing solitaire (or some sort of card game) on his computer
and every 30 seconds there is this "dalee" sounding annoying computer bell noise. i think it could be a declaration of war.
