to make a long story short...
starting this site back up has probably been one of the hardest things i've ever done.
but i'm not sure why. you'd think just slapping some images together and writing some words
would be pretty easy. but for some reason it's not. maybe it's because so much has happened
and i don't know where to start. so how about starting with a recap?
i got laid off, moved back from another country, travelled around, caught the plague,
became that cliched 20-something
who moves back in to her parent's house and sits around all day, contemplated moving
somewhere else but accepted a fantastic new job here, and also i have done the completely
unthinkable, i have bought a house.
in the suburbs even.
now i've always told myself (a) i would never live in the suburbs and (b) i wouldn't buy a house
until i was at least 40. and since i'm nowhere near 40 and my smack dab in a new
fancy development, my grand scheme has obviously failed.
at anyrate, i was going to start this post like all the others with the standard today i did this and then i ate this and then finally i ate this.
but this last weekend was more fun so let's start there instead.
on friday we went to see bjork. she was playing in the city at pier 30/32. none of us had ever heard of this venue before. it was outdoors
and huge (9000 people apparently) i felt like i was at an outdoor festival. it was a good show with fireworks, but i'm not sure
it was worth its hefty ticket price. afterwards we went to mel's (scottel was in town, thus we had to have diner food. it is his
secret obsession favorite). while there we learned that juju's new housemate hellyn grew up with karenlee. talk about small world.
the next day we went down to crissy field to fly kites. we had a pretty impressive turnout (9 of us total)
and a pretty good time. crissy field is great for kite flying. and the best part is that it's right next to the bay.
but naturally, that is also the worst part of it. we lost 2 kites to the bay and a few others to the wind. it was a
great day for kite flying, but not such a great day for being a kite. it was also a great day for champagne
by the bay, too bad we left it in the car (which was forever and ever away...)
